OVERVIEW
At Women’s Foundation of Alabama, we believe that what gets measured gets changed. Our success depends on understanding the issues facing women in detail. By knowing the relative impact of barriers women face, we can assess the ways to overcome them, to – quite literally – clear the path, hence the name of our research publication. As we complete each Clearing the Path study, we convene senior corporate and government leaders around the findings and subsequent recommendations for removing barriers to work for women.

Published in 2024, Clearing the Path: The Business Case for Child Care examines the significant role women play in Alabama’s economy and the opportunity for substantial economic growth if we can address the barriers that prevent the full participation of women in Alabama’s workforce.
