Where our grantmaking efforts provide immediate relief where it is needed, these efforts alone are not enough. Without meaningful legislative change, women and their families will never have a clear pathway to success. This is why we advocate for nonpartisan policies that break down barriers. In the last two decades, we have invested over $8 million in innovative solutions that accelerate economic opportunities for women and their families.

Women's policy institute
We believe that the leadership and voices of women are critical in these discussions, processes, and seats at the table. Women’s Foundation of Alabama created the Women’s Policy Institute (WPI), an advocacy operation that equips community leaders for public policy advocacy, connects Alabama women to key stakeholders and to each other, and invests resources to support multi-issue movement-building and Fellow-led initiatives.
