A Letter from Our President & CEO
Kimberly L. Jackson
Dear Friends and Partners of the Women’s Foundation of Alabama,
Since stepping into the role of President and CEO, I have spent my first months listening closely, learning deeply, and seeing the strength of this community in action. Your support has affirmed what I have long believed as a fifth-generation Alabamian, a longtime volunteer of this Foundation, and a mother raising my family in this state: when women advance, the entire community moves forward.
Across the state, women are voicing a clear and consistent truth. They are not seeking a handout; they are seeking a hand up — for us to raise our hands to answer the needs of our community. That call is guiding our strategic direction as we focus on three priorities essential to women’s long-term wellbeing and our state’s economic future: maternal health, mental health, and economic mobility. These pillars are grounded in rigorous research and shaped by the lived experiences of Alabama’s women and families.
As we chart the Foundation’s next chapter, I invite you to raise your hand with us in three meaningful ways:
1. Champion our research to drive systemic change
2. Make a philanthropic investment that powers our programs
3. Engage in our programs and convenings that elevate community voice
Together, we can build a stronger, more equitable Alabama. I look forward to ensuring you continue to see your values, your investment, and your impact reflected in all we do.
With gratitude,

Kimberly L. Jackson
