An investment in child care is an investment in Alabama's economy.

Alabama’s economy does not work without women.           Alabama’s economy does not work without child care.

Addressing the child care supply gap in Alabama is essential for economic growth, reducing financial strains on families, and increasing workforce participation.

As a part of our multi-pronged approach to addressing the child care shortage in Alabama, Women’s Foundation of Alabama – in partnership with local and national organizations and funders – is piloting the Advancing Alabama Childcare Accelerator starting in the Spring of 2024.

Through the child care accelerator, we will partner with both center-based and home-based child care providers to support them in starting or expanding high-quality, thriving child care businesses that meet the needs of working families in Alabama.

Child care business owners will have the opportunity to join a cohort of their peers in receiving high-quality training and coaching from business and child care experts & access to tools, resources & funding opportunities aimed at strengthening their businesses and growing the supply of child care seats in their local community!

Are you a passionate, child care professional interested in starting or growing a child care business in the Greater Birmingham region?
