The Women’s Fund of Greater Birmingham announced today the hiring of Macy Vintson, CFRE, as Director of Development.

“As Alabama’s only public women’s foundation, philanthropy is at the heart of The Women’s Fund of Greater Birmingham,” said Melanie R. Bridgeforth, President & CEO. “Our 25-year history of combining the power of collective giving with innovative gender-lens investment strategies is moving the needle for women. Macy’s proven track record and ability to inspire giving is sure to strengthen The Women’s Fund’s ability to create a future where power and possibility are not limited by gender. We warmly welcome her to the team.”

Vintson began her career in development and fundraising at The University of Alabama in the College of Arts & Sciences. Most recently, she served as the Director of Advancement at Mitchell’s Place, an organization specializing in improving the lives of children affected by autism. With more than seven years of experience, she has fundraised more than $5 million to drive mission advancement and causes in which she believes strongly.

“The Women’s Fund of Greater Birmingham is vital resource for Birmingham and the state,” said Vintson. “I always dreamed of being involved, but never imagined I would be offered my dream job. Fundraising for an organization like The Women’s Fund allows me to connect generous community members with their passion while moving resources to effect true change for women across Alabama. I am excited to play a small part in advancing the equity and inclusion for all women.”

A native of Oxford, Alabama, Vintson earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and master’s degree in Educational Psychology, both from The University of Alabama. She received her Certified Fundraising Executive Certificate (CFRE) in 2020. Vintson is a member of the Junior League of Birmingham, Rotaract Club of Birmingham, and she serves on the Delta Zeta Birmingham Alumnae Chapter.

Vintson calls Hoover home. When she is not out raising critical resources to fuel The Women’s Fund’s mission, you can find her cooking, traveling, reading one of the many books on her nightstand, or spending time with her fiancé.
