Dear wonderful supporters, While the Board is sad that Jeanne is retiring, The Women’s Fund is in its strongest position since its creation in 1996.
Because of your commitment to women’s economic security and your generosity, we surpassed our campaign goal of $5 million and our two-generation collaborative initiatives are resulting in hundreds of single mothers moving into higher wage jobs with quality childcare for their children. The Board of The Women’s Fund is committed to continuing this momentum and expanding our role as a powerful advocate for economic security for all women. To ensure that we find the best and most qualified person to become our new President and CEO, the Board formed a search committee chaired by Lisa Engel, former Board chair of The Women’s Fund. The search committee members are:
Lisa Engel, Chair (past Board Chair)Vicki Briggs (Current Board Chair)Leslie Carlisle (Incoming Board Chair)Tracey Morant Adams (2019 Board Chair)Dr. Liesel French (Board Member)Dr. Nancy Dunlap Jones (Board Member)Alesia Jones (Board Member)Emily Hess Levine (past Board Member)Guin Robinson (community member)
Sam led the successful searches that hired Chris Nanni at the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, Andrea Taylor at Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, and Kathryn Strickland at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama. Sam will meet with staff and Board members and develop a job description in the upcoming weeks. We are confident that our partnership with Sam will assist in attracting top-notched local and regional candidates for this position. We will share with you the job description as soon as it is complete and, in the meantime, encourage you to suggest names or any ideas about your vision for future of The Women’s Fund with Lisa Engel (lisa.r.engel@gmail.com). We appreciate all you do for success of The Women’s Fund. Best regards,
